Sign Language Interpreter
Karen received a B.A. in Education of the Deaf from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Education of the Deaf from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She taught deaf children in Illinois before accepting a position as Supervisor of Deaf Education at California State University, Fresno, where she headed a program that trained teachers of deaf and hard of hearing children. She moved to Port Angeles with her husband and this is her third year as our PMGS Sign Language Interpreter. She serves as a volunteer for an organization called Children of the Nations, she attends Independent Bible Church in Port Angeles, and she enjoys the challenge of making our music accessible to the deaf residents of our area.
